MICHAEL HARTMAN landed his first job in a theatrical public relations company in 1992, and in 1999 co-founded Barlow Hartman Public Relations, which represented more than 100 Broadway productions over ten years. A graduate of the High School for Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas and the University of Texas at Austin, Michael spent years on the acting path before discovering his passion as a press agent, fusing his interests and experience in theater with his status as a bona fide newshound. The Hartman Group was founded in June 2009 and Michael is in the most fulfilling season of his professional life to date.
KATIE BRITTON couldn't be happier to join The Hartman Group. In the past year Katie assisted Sherie Rene Scott during the Broadway productions of Everyday Rapture and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, as well as Donna Murphy during the run of The People in the Picture. She has worked with The Public Theatre, The Kevin Kline Awards, and Davenport Theatrical. Katie has a BFA in Stage Management from Webster University (Go Gorlocks) and enjoys Elton John, mason jars, and watching reality TV with her cat, Kitty Carlisle.
NICOLE CAPATASTO is a Rutgers University graduate who interned with Barlow-Hartman, Playwrights Horizons and George Street Playhouse before joining The Hartman Group in June of 2009. She recently worked on the Broadway productions of La Bête and Baby It's You and currently represents Traces at the Union Square Theatre as well as the Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, starring Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette.
TOM D'AMBROSIO has been a theatre publicist for nineteen years. A graduate of Syracuse University, he previously worked with Kornberg & Associates, James LL Morrison & Associates, Bill Evans, Jeffrey Richards & Associates, and Circle Repertory Company.
WHITNEY HOLDEN GORE is thrilled to represent the current Broadway productions of EVITA, Rock of Ages, On A Clear Day You Can See Forever, and the national tour of Bring It On: The Musical. Prior to joining The Hartman Group in 2011, Whitney was a publicist at Cohn Dutcher Associates, representing performing arts clients such as The New York Pops, Ravinia Festival and Caramoor Festival; past projects include productions of Annie Get Your Gun with Patti LuPone and Camelot with George Hearn, Bill T Jones' Fondly Do We Hope...Fervently Do We Pray, and Sondheim's 80th Birthday Celebration at Carnegie Hall. A bona fide music-theatre-film-and-history buff, Whitney hails from Connecticut, and has a BA in Public Relations from Miami University.
JULIANA HANNETT is a graduate of Oswego State University. She came to NYC as a stage manager and also worked as an associate producer where she helped create a series of one-hour specials for cable television. She began her life as a press agent in 2001 with Boneau/Bryan-Brown where she represented Curtains; Beauty and the Beast; The History Boys; Take Me Out; Caroline, or Change and many others. In 2008, Juliana joined Barlow Hartman (now The Hartman Group) and has had the pleasure of representing the 2009 Best Musical Billy Elliot, 2010 Best Musical Memphis and most recently, Ghost The Musical. Juliana is still slowly working her way through an MA in Theatre at Hunter College.
BETHANY LARSEN has worked as the business manager for Barlow Hartman and The Hartman Group since 2003. She is a proud board member of The Fordham Alumni Theatre Company and Solving Kids' Cancer (www.solvingkidscancer.org). She enjoys embroidery and general craftiness, writing plays and learning tap dance moves with her very brave husband.
EMILY MCGILL is delighted to be a publicist with The Hartman Group! A Pittsburgh native, she is pleased to represent Billy Elliot, Memphis, and the upcoming Ghost. Emily previously assisted Valerie Harper on Looped, worked with Fox Theatricals on Legally Blonde, and rocked out with the Rock of Ages company management team. During the run of Looped, and Ms. Harper's subsequent Tony Campaign, Emily served as the "virtual Valerie Harper" and was given notice in the Los Angeles Times for her use of social networking to promote the show. She has experience in various facets of the industry, including general management, casting, talent management, front of house, and internet marketing, but has found her true love in publicity.
LESLIE BADEN PAPA has been a publicist at The Hartman Group (formerly Barlow Hartman Public Relations) since 2004. She has worked on a variety of Broadway & Off-Broadway shows including Rock of Ages (currently), On A Clear Day You Can See Forever (currently), EVITA (currently), Bring It On: The Musical (National Tour), Catch Me If You Can, American Idiot, Wintuk by Cirque Du Soleil, 13, Legally Blonde The Musical (including the MTV Special, Reality Series and National Tour), Cyrano de Bergerac, Company, Movin' Out, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, 700 Sundays, Sweeney Todd, Gem of the Ocean; Before that she was at Carol Fineman Publicity and worked on The Normal Heart, Modern Orthodox, The Exonerated and others. Leslie is a graduate of Columbia University.
MATT ROSS has spent the past six years working in the theatre industry as a publicist, representing the Broadway productions of A Steady Rain; Promises, Promises; La Bête; In The Heights; The Seagull; Curtains; Rock 'n' Roll; The History Boys; The Country Girl; Mary Poppins; Tarzan and many more. He has also represented New York's Signature Theatre Company and LAByrinth Theater Company and Washington DC's Signature Theatre. Before coming to The Hartman Group, Matt worked for three years at Boneau/Bryan-Brown. He currently represents the Broadway production of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and the 7 Fingers production of Traces at the Union Square Theatre and oversees press and marketing strategy for the National Theatre's Tony Award-winning play War Horse in North America.
FRANCES WHITE caught the theatre bug at the early age of 5 when her mother would spend hours in the kitchen cooking up a storm while listening to Sweeney Todd (clearly she didn't find the irony in that until years later). She is a graduate of Emerson College with a BFA in Musical Theatre and has used her talents to publicize the Broadway shows Billy Elliot, Elf, Memphis, and is currently working on Wicked, Sister Act, Lysistrata Jones and Second Stage Theatre. Sweeney Todd remains her favorite show, although these days she thinks twice before tasting her mother's pies.
WAYNE WOLFE is a graduate of Hofstra University and began his career at Shirley Herz Associates, going on to work in the New York office of Livent. Wayne joined Barlow Hartman public relations a few months after the company's inception and is now very pleased to be working at The Hartman Group.
